Saint Ephraim: A Legacy of Faith, Service, and Renewal

Get to Know Us

Founded by the devoted Father Ioannis Polychronopoulos, Saint Ephraim is a dedicated charity association making a tangible difference in Imathia and beyond. Born in Thessaloniki in 1983, Father Ioannis initially pursued a distinguished career in medicine, graduating with honors from Ferrara as a doctor and completing his postgraduate studies in Clinical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. After returning to Greece, he met and married Panagiota Sotiriadou.

A profound calling led him to dedicate his life to Christ. Ordained by Metropolitan Antonios of Glyfada, he joined the ranks of the Church of Greece, embarking on a path where he fully committed himself to serving the Church he deeply loves and the faithful who seek his help. During this sacred journey, his family grew, and he was blessed with three children. For the past six years, Father Ioannis has been diligently serving as a priest at the Church of Saint Constantine and Helen in P. Skylitsi. He discovered the church in a state of near abandonment, and with unwavering perseverance and determination, he embarked on the ambitious mission to renovate it. This journey is ongoing, and while significant progress has been made, the needs remain substantial, and he relies on your support to complete this vital work, a true testament to his lifelong dedication.

Beyond the ongoing restoration of the church, Father Ioannis's dedication extends tirelessly to humanitarian aid. He actively works to alleviate the burdens of underprivileged families across Imathia and throughout Greece, ensuring they have access to essential food supplies, much-needed clothing, and vital medical support. His compassionate outreach isn't confined to a single region; wherever individuals and families reach out for assistance, he makes it his mission to ensure a helping hand is extended, embodying the spirit of Christ's love through practical action. Furthermore, Father Ioannis provides invaluable religious support and comfort, offering a steadfast source of spiritual guidance during difficult times. His presence and prayers serve as a beacon of hope, bringing solace and reassurance to countless individuals who seek his counsel. At Saint Ephraim, we are committed to nurturing both material well-being and spiritual growth, guided by unwavering faith and dedicated to selfless service.
